Dewberry Recognized with Five Geospatial and Technology Awards

The American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) named Dewberry the recipient of the 2022 Roger Hoffer Membership Award


Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that it received five recent awards recognizing its work in the geospatial and technology services markets.

ASPRS – Roger Hoffer Membership Award

The American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) named Dewberry the recipient of the 2022 Roger Hoffer Membership Award – Honorable Mention, which marks the efforts of former ASPRS President Roger Hoffer and recognizes members who actively promote membership in the organization. Dewberry has been involved with ASPRS for more than 50 years, and the firm’s Senior Vice President Amar Nayegandhi, CP, CMS, GISP, currently serves on the GeoWeek advisory panel and is the former ASPRS Lidar Division Director.

“Dewberry’s involvement in ASPRS is an extremely valuable asset to the growth of our organization, our ability to deliver to our clients, and the professional development of our staff,” says Nayegandhi. “We’re honored to receive the 2022 Roger Hoffer Membership Award.”

MAPPS – Geospatial Excellence Award for GIS/IT/Remote Sensing Analysis

The Management Association of Private Photogrammetric Surveyors (MAPPS) recognized Dewberry with its Geospatial Excellence Award for GIS/IT/Remote Sensing Analysis for its work with National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)/Bureau of Energy Management (BOEM) on the Automatic Identification System (AIS) Data Provisioning System and Data Management for the Marine Cadastre project, which spanned nationwide.

Esri –Systems Integrator Award for Innovation

Dewberry received the Systems Integrator Award for Innovation at the 2022 Esri Partner Conference (EPC) held in Palm Springs, California, in March. The firm was one of six Esri Federal partners recognized at the conference for excellence in their work with Esri in the U.S. Federal Government market. Dewberry was recently designated as an Esri Cornerstone Partner for its 20 years of partnership. The firm’s recent applications of Esri technology include the use of the Experience Builder to develop an interactive and immersive Best Practices Guide for Fishing at Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary, in collaboration with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), The Nature Conservancy, and other key partners.

ACEC Virginia – Grand Award, Pinnacle Award

The firm received the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Virginia Grand Award and Pinnacle Award for its work on the Alaska Statewide Mapping project, which utilized IFSAR technology. The 10-year project covered more than 600,000 square miles of land mass, which brought the state’s maps into accordance with the U.S. Geological Survey’s national mapping standards.

The firm recently purchased the RIEGL VQ-1560 II-S topographic airborne lidar sensor and the CZMIL SuperNova, a powerful topobathymetric mapping sensor to support its clients in their mapping and data acquisition needs.
