OMV Petrom hires ABL for Neptun Deep Gas Field Project

This project is a big deal for Romania as it's the largest natural gas project in the country's Black Sea waters

OMV Petrom has hired ABL, a global energy and marine consultancy, to help with the Neptun Deep Gas Field Project in the Black Sea. ABL will provide Marine Warranty Survey (MWS) services to make sure everything goes smoothly. This project is a big deal for Romania as it’s the largest natural gas project in the country’s Black Sea waters. They plan to start producing gas in 2027, which will help make sure the region has enough energy.

ABL’s team in London will be in charge of reviewing, surveying, and approving all the operations for the Transportation & Installation (T&I) of important project assets. This includes building a shallow water platform, installing critical project assets under the sea, and laying a 160 km pipeline to shore.

Global Support

The shallow water platform project in Italy and Indonesia will require coordination and collaboration between multiple ABL offices around the world. The main office in London will oversee the project management, ensuring that all aspects of the construction are on track and within budget. Meanwhile, the team in the Black Sea will be responsible for overseeing the on-site operations, making sure that construction is proceeding according to plan.

Additionally, the teams in Indonesia will provide support and assistance as needed, leveraging their local knowledge and expertise to ensure that all regulatory requirements are met and that any logistical challenges are addressed promptly. By working together across different regions, ABL can leverage their global resources and capabilities to successfully deliver this complex project on time and within budget.

Sergio Leone, the MWS Project Manager, is excited about the project. He says it will not only help Romania but also support Europe’s energy security in the long run. ABL is proud to be part of this important project and is committed to making sure it is a success.

Looking to the Future

ABL is a company that focuses on energy and marine projects. They are happy to be working with OMV Petrom on this project and are dedicated to helping Romania and the Black Sea region. They have offices in Bulgaria, Turkey, and now Romania, showing their commitment to the area.
