The Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), in conjunction with the Society for Sedimentary Geology (SEPM), are set to host the fourth annual International Meeting for Applied Geoscience & Energy (IMAGE) to be held 26–29 August 2024 in Houston, Texas, USA.
In 2021, IMAGE was designed by industry professionals as the place for geoscientists, energy professionals, and thought leaders to meet and shape the future of applied geosciences and energy. It provides an influential platform for sharing best practices, discovering solutions, and developing new perspectives and strategies to challenge and plan for what’s ahead.
With year-on-year growth coming out of 2023, IMAGE witnessed a 44% increase in technical content, 39% increase in corporate registrations, 23% increase in overall attendance, and 10% increase in exhibition. IMAGE is by far the fastest growing and one of the most important events in our profession today.
Building upon this great success, the 2024 technical program will be the largest to date featuring 1,240 technical presentations in 315 diverse sessions encompassing an extensive array of foundational and emerging geology and geophysics topics.
This year’s meeting will kick off with an Executive Panel at the Opening Session addressing global energy’s expected challenges over the next 10 years. Panelists include Liz Schwarze of Chevron, Kevin McLachlan of TotalEnergy, Tracey Henderson of Apache, John Ardill of ExxonMobil, and Muhamed Redhani of Petronas.
